The BGCC is creating the new position of Logistics Director who will report directly to the Operations Committee. As the upcoming season is filled with external bonspiels and other major events, we want to operate in an organized, consistent, and professional manner.
The Logistics Director will establish guidelines for coordinating events. This includes all critical elements of an event including: press releases, volunteer coordination, communication, execution, follow-up, and more. These guidelines will provide a framework that event chairs will use to plan and execute events. The Logistics Director will work directly with event chairs and will report the status of each event to the Operations Committee on a regular basis so that any outstanding concerns can be quickly resolved.
Shannon Orr has agreed to fill this position going into the 2017-18 season. Shannon was the president of the club who led us during our transition to the Black Swamp Curling Center, and she currently serves as a member of the Operations Committee. Her experience is ideal for this role as the club moves forward.
