    11-01-2020 3:00 am - 04-25-2021
$270 Included Club Membership - FULL YEAR
    Junior Curling Practice/Advanced Instruction

Junior Curling Practice and Advanced Instruction.

Requirement for competitive curlers and future competitive curlers.  This is where past, present, and future National qualifiers and medalists will be developed.   This time is more of a practice time and less of a league with structured games.

Many athletes dream of putting shiny medals around their necks.  This is where the ability to do that is amplified.  Higher level instruction, analysis, and lots of repetition of shots is what this time frame is about.  Prior curling experience not needed.

Parent commitment:  Within 6 weeks of joining the Junior Curling Practice and Advanced Instruction League, we ask that parents purchase curling shoes for their child.  The most important aspect of curling is balance.  Without curling shoes, the foundation that everything else is built upon (balance), cannot be developed.  Shoes can be purchased for as little as $50.  See instructors for direction.

Participants will also be allowed to sub/spare on any league at no cost.  They will also be invited to club bonspiels and parties.  Club membership (included at this price) is required to participate in the National playoff system.

    Junior Curling FUN League

    11-05-2020 4:15 pm - 01-21-2021 5:45 pm
    $100 - 7 weeks
    Junior Curling FUN League

Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 4:15-5:45pm starting THURSDAY, November 5th.

This is a great place to start your student athlete in the sport of curling.  The Junior FUN League is for kids who can throw a rock down the entire curling sheet (usually around 4th grade) and up through kids in high school.

Some competitive junior curlers may be around to pick up a game or two.

The sport of curling is introduced and each week, something new will be taught.

Dress warm and in layers, bring an extra pair of clean gym shoes (not worn to facility).

Rock Stars Junior Curling (1st-4th grade)

    11-07-2020 - 12-26-2020
    $50 Check Schedule
Rock Stars Junior Curling (1st-4th grade)

It's back but with many more volunteers and on a new day.  Our Rock Star program is designed to introduce our youngest and smallest curlers to the sport of curling.

Starting in 1st grade (maturity level to listen to instructors safely) and going until they develop the strenght to deliver a stone the entire length of the curling ice, this laid back and fun atmosphere gives kids a chance to be successful and build confidence.

PLEASE NOTE:  This league is NOT EVERY WEEK, and it is NOT AT THE SAME TIME EVERY WEEK.

This half of the season will be on SELECT Saturday mornings.

    11/7   - 10am-Noon

    11/21 -  8am-10am

    11/28 - 10am-Noon

    12/19 - 10am-Noon

    12/26 - 10am-Noon

On other Saturdays we have events at the Black Swamp Curling Center and we cannot facilitate the Rock Star program at that time.  If you want to volunteer to coach/teach (we can train) the Rock Star program on a Tuesday or a Thursday after school in the Spring, please reach out to us for more information.

    $50.00
    High School Fun League

With the huge success of local high school curling clubs, the Black Swamp Curling Center is opening up several high school fun leagues to support the growth of curling in the Northwest Ohio area.

Due to COVID-19, this year we are limiting the league to a small number of participants and working with the Wood County Health Department and USA Curling to provide guidelines and protocols to help keep everyone as safe as possible.

No need to have a team set up, nor have other kids from your high school.  We will work with everyone to get teams together and have a fun time during these crazy times.

    No experience required.

Please dress in layers, bring second pair of clean shoes (do not wear shoes from outside to curl in), and make sure parents sign a waiver before the first time on the ice.

This year's fun league will end with an opportunity to participate in Ohio's first high school curling club championships (name of tournament still waiting to be solidified).  The vast majority of participants in that tournament are newer curlers and should be tons of fun.
